Paula Teggelove is a registered psychologist with over 20 years experience in providing counselling, therapy, psychological services, training, lecturing and small group facilitation. Paula has worked in a range of settings including community based services and schools and, with 15 years in private practice, Paula has extensive experience working with a range of areas including anxiety, depression, trauma and recovery, abuse and recovery, adjustment issues, work stress, grief and loss, and relationship issues (individuals and couples).
Paula has a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Education (Post-Grad) from Deakin University as well as Post Graduate Diplomas in both Psychology and Education. After 18 years working in schools, as both an educator and a psychologist, she moved into full time private practice in 2008. Paula is also the founder and Director of Propsych, an organisation that has developed into one of the peak bodies offering bespoke professional development to school professionals in the area of mental health and young people.
Paula has been a fully registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioners’ Registration Agency (AHPRA) since 2003 and is a full member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). She has been actively involved in the APS for 10 years and held executive positions on the Melbourne Branch fpr 6 years, including 2 years as Chair. Paula works with adults and adolescents (and families where appropriate). She works from an emotionally focused perspective but, having completed training in a wide range of therapeutic frameworks, draws on various approaches to tailor treatment to an individual’s need.
Although now based only in Port Melbourne, Paula has worked in a number of clinical settings in private practice and is highly experienced in third cover claims such as workcover, TAC, Victims of Crime and Comcare and has completed 100s or assessments and psychological reports for legal purposes.
